Label design
The Duke of Burgundy, Philip the Bold, is famous for his Ordinance which banned the “vile Gamay grape” from Burgundy wines. Taking the opposite historical stance—fortunately—our client asked us to create the packaging for a refreshing wine from the Côteaux Bourguignons appellation, made from this now noble Gamay grape variety that is currently enjoying a revival and is full of flavor!
Our approach: a striking original illustration featuring jugglers (with grapes!), a nod to the Court of the Dukes of Burgundy, Gothic lettering and the historic coat of arms, for a label that is quirky but not too much so!
